Dear National Representatives:

The YES Network currently has over 1,400 members from 103 countries. I would like to bring to your attention several resources that you can use to quickly and easily connect with the YES Network members in your country.

1. The YES Network Membership Directory (http://www.agiweb.org/yes/membership/index.html)

Of the 103 countries that the YES Network has members in, there are only 39 YES Network National Representatives. Only 12 YES Network National Representatives have posted their profile in the YES Network's Membership Directory. The Directory is being used more and more by YES Network members all around the world. Currently there are 105 profiles posted in the Directory and this number continues to grow steadily each month.

I encourage you to update your profile and post it in the Membership so that YES Network members in your country can find you and communicate with you easily. If you don't remember your ID and password, please email me at lmg@agiweb.org and I will send it to you.

2. YES Network Membership Listings

I manage the entire YES Network membership database. On average, the Network has increased it's membership by ~30-50 members every month. As a YES Network National Representative, you can email me to get an updated list (name and emails) of YES Network members in your country every month. All you have to do is email me at lmg@agiweb.org and request your National Chapter's membership list.

3. YES Network Newsletter

Our YES Network Newsletter is posted on the YES Network's website and emailed to all YES Network members every month. The Newsletter has two special sections just for National Chapters: 1) National Chapter Updates (usually starting on page 3) and the list of all YES Network National Chapters (usually on pages 10-11).

Each month a member of the Newsletter team (Tiffany, Chhavi, or myself) will send out an email to all National Representatives asking for updates about what's going on in their chapters. Please take the time to share any news about projects, activities, or upcoming events in which your National Chapter is involved. Also, it is VERY important to make sure that the Newsletter team has your most up-to-date contact information (email, website, Facebook) for yourself and your National Chapter.

4. National Chapter Websites and Facebook pages

There are many free resources on the web that will allow you to create National Chapter websites. 16 National Chapters have websites and 9 have Facebook pages or groups. Most of the websites are developed on Google's blogger (a free website builder). There is a resource guide for National Chapters posted on the YES Network website, under the menu "Resources" (http://www.networkyes.org/index.php/resources/for_national_chapters/) and the YES Network Communications Team can answer questions about how to set up your National Chapter Website. You can view the National Chapter online websites to get ideas on how to build your own. Again, make sure to let the Communications team know as soon as your website is online, so they can link it to the main YES Network website.

La Red está preparando la edición del 1er Boletín YES, ante quienes gusten presentar trabajos pueden hacerlo hasta el 30 de Septiembre del corriente año. La publicación se realiza dos veces por año, en Julio y Diciembre.

No pierdan ésta oportunidad para publicar (con normas ISSN) y hacerse miembros de la Red global YES.

Dear Colleagues,
It is our great honor to invite submissions to the first edition of the YES Network Bulletin.
The submission deadline is September 30, 2011.
The fundamental aim of the YES Network Bulletin is to publish contributions pertaining to all
aspects of earth sciences, providing a timely forum to the advancement of the entire field. The
YES Network Bulletin is published twice per year, in July and December. Papers must be original,
and will present data, interpretations and/or syntheses that are unpublished and/or have not
been submitted elsewhere. If accepted, the papers become copyright of the YES Network.

Format and Presentation

The official language of the YES Network Bulletin is English.
All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one
inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Except for
Short Communications, manuscripts should ordinarily include an Abstract, Keywords,
Introduction, Methods or Approaches, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments,
References, Appendices (if applicable), Figure Captions, and Tables.

Title page: The first page of each paper should indicate the title; author names and affiliations;
keywords (three to ten English words); an abbreviated title for the running head (fewer than 35
characters); the exact postal address with postal code, and telephone and fax numbers for the
corresponding author. The line-centered title should begin about 7 cm below the top of the sheet
of paper, and the space above it should be left blank for editorial purposes.

Abstract: A single paragraph summary of less than 200 words is required. The abstract should
outline the major objectives and conclusions of the study and be suitable for separate publication
by an abstracting service. The abstract should consist of active, informative sentences; passive,
uninformative sentences, such as “Temporal trends are discussed” must be avoided (see Landes,
1966, Bulletin of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, 50:1992).
Text headings. Authors may use three orders of topic headings for normal text:

FIRST LEVEL HEADING

Secondary Heading

Tertiary Heading in italics with text running directly after the heading.

For contributions dealing with taxonomy, the primary heading should be SYTEMATIC
PALEONTOLOGY; ICHNOLOGY, etc; the general style and format otherwise follow
standard paleontological conventions, including indented, italicized quaternary headings for
diagnoses, descriptions, discussions, and so on.

Illustrations: Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.)
should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality
reproduction. They should follow these guidelines:

• 300 dpi or higher
• sized to fit on journal page
• EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
• submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files

Color Reproduction: Color art will be reproduced in color in the online publication at no additional cost to the author.

Tables and Figures: Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated.

References: References are cited in the text by the authors' names and year of publication (et al. should be used in the text for papers with more than two authors). All references should be
listed alphabetically at the end of the paper. The author must ensure that each reference cited in
the text is entered in the bibliography, that each entry in the bibliography is cited in the text, and
that each bibliographic entry is correct in every respect, including umlauts, tildes, circumflexes,
and other diacritical marks. For some journals, it is necessary to include issue numbers as well as
volume numbers. Publications cited in taxonomic headings or synonymies must also be entered
in the bibliography when both author and year of publication are given; the same is true of
authors of ichnotaxa listed in the text. Where two or more papers are cited in sequence, they
should be listed in chronologic order, oldest first (e.g. Smith et al., 1971; Jackson, 1983; French
and Patton, 1988). For bibliographic entries, upper/lower case lettering is used throughout.
Journal titles are given in full, unabbreviated form:

Proofs and Complimentary Policy. One set of proofs is sent to the corresponding author. Proofs
should be carefully checked and returned promptly. Alterations made in proof should be
minimal.

XVIII Congreso Geológico Argentino - Neuquén Argentina 2011

Los pasados días 2, 3, 4, 5 y 6 de Mayo se celebró en la ciudad Patagónica de Neuquén el 18° Congreso Geológico Argentino, ante el cual los miembros de Argentina de la red YES estuvimos presentes con orgullo representando a tal organización.

Cabe mencionar que el nivel académico de tal congreso fue mas que exelente y la organización nos dejó la mejor impresión que puede tener un geólogo y un estudiante como tal. No dejaremos afuera también la hospitalidad de la gente de la ciudad de Neuquén que nos hizo sentir como en casa.

Resumiendo, los dejamos con una muy buena opinion sobre tal reunión a la que asistimos con gran entusiasmo y nos volvimos con ganas de seguir como siempre publicando y llevando adelante los objetivos propuestos por quienes estamos a cargo de éste blog.

La red global YES (Young Earth Scientists) propone promover la inclusión social de las Ciencias de la Tierra mediante los investigadores geocientíficos menores de 35 años. La red es una asociacion internacional compuesta por profesionales graduados, organizaciones mundiales y compañias de gran embergadura; éstas con el mismo objetivo propuesto anteriormente repetidas veces.
